Today’s our final day in our city in Upper Egypt. We are transitioning to the US for 2017. The goodbyes are difficult and shocking. Just this morning, we ran some final errands with our friend and taxi driver. As we said goodbye, this quiet, stoic, good, Muslim man began to cry. We did, too. John affirmed him and he responded, “You will always be in my heart. You are my friend for the rest of my life.”
The goodbyes are difficult, but also beautiful for in the tears we understand that we’ve had true friendship and deep life.
We will continue to pray for our friends, the seeds planted and watered.
We have a couple more stops before we land in the U.S. Dec. 18. We are so excited to see you and catch up. There’s a lot of news to tell. Most that simply must be told in person.
Until then, please know how much we love and appreciate your friendship.
May the peace of Christ fill your home this season.
